Believe
Bible
We believe that the Bible is the word of God, breathed into writing, inerrant, perfect, and is the core teaching of our faith. We believe that all things should be viewed through scripture. (2 Timothy 3:16-17, Psalm 119:105, Hebrews 4:12, John 14:26)
Trinity
We believe in a triune God; God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. All three parts are equal and are of the same God. (Matthew 28: 19, John 14:26)
Jesus
We believe that Jesus is the one true son of God. That He is co-equal in the trinity, was born of the virgin Mary, lived a sinless life, died for our transgressions, on the third day was risen from the grave, and is now at the right hand of God the Father waiting for His triumphant return. (John 14:6, Romans 3:23, Romans 8:38-39, Romans 10:9-10, Philippians 3:4-11)
Sin
We believe that all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. This leaves us eternally separated from God. We believe that Jesus died as propitiation for our sin (He died in our place) allowing all that believes in Him to spend eternity with God. (John 3:16, Romans 3:23, Isaiah 55:7, Romans 6:10)
Salvation
We believe that all have sinned and need forgiveness. Jesus was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, died on the cross as our sacrifice, arose from the dead on the third day, ascended into Heaven and is now at the right hand of God the Father waiting for His triumphant return as was prophesied long before the birth of Jesus. We believe that the only way to Heaven is through faith in Jesus the Christ. (John 14:6, Romans 3:23, Romans 8:38-39, Romans 10:9-10, Philippians 3:4-11)
Heaven and Hell
We believe that both Heaven and Hell are real places, and that the souls that go to either one will be there for all of eternity. These souls with either go and eternally worship the one true God, or will be eternally separated from God and all of His attributes. (Hebrews 9:27, Matthew 25:41, Revelation 20:10, John 14:2, John 3:13, Romans 6:23, Luke 23:43)
Baptism
We believe in water baptism. It is an outward sign of an inward faith. Baptism is one small way to show the world that you have committed yourself to Christ Jesus and are no longer a servant to sin, but a bondservant and a beloved child of God. (John 3:5, John 3:23, Acts 2:41, Romans 6:4)
Communion
We believe that communion is a holy act of remembrance of the broken body and the shed blood of Christ Jesus. It reminds us that Jesus died on the cross as a sinless sacrifice for all who would believe in Him. It is not an act to be taken lightly, as it is a holy act. (1 Corinthians 11:29, Mark 14:22-25, Matthew 26: 26-28)
We agree with both the Apostles Creed and the Nicene Creed.
